5/5

Mike is home!

Mike is receiving physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy visits at home for two weeks. After that, it will be out-patient rehab. He has gained enough confidence with his walker that he will putter around the main floor without "spotters." This week, he's also been introduced to the cane. That has got him a bit anxious (he feels unsteady and vulnerable on it) but he's getting in and trying very hard.

I'll post an old and new video of him reading to show his voice progress next.

Hello to you all from the missing aunty. Bought a new computer. Visa system. Big mistake. Big money. Big repairs. Big regrets.
But biggest regrets are not keeping in touch, and being able to celebrate all Mike's touch-downs.
Love the clean garage. I don't think I have ever in my life seen a 'crapless' garage. (Actually, that's a lie. My old neighbour used to clear our her garage and hold a Christmas party there so that the little kids won't touch her bizarrely huge Christmas village just inside the door in the basement. That, of course, ended the year that she kept all the left-over perogies and cabbage rolls from her son's wedding (on Halloween.....of course!) and fed them to all the neighbours at the Christmas and they all came down with bizarre diarehea and vomitting. ((Now here's the rub. My kids were all home sick with snotty noses.....Steven stayed home with them........I don't like Uke food much even new, -so I remained unscathed.)) I was out walking the dog the next morning, and one of the little kids from the other side was stumbling around. We chatted, -he said "Mrs. Clayton, ------I frew up so hard I forgot my name"
Now, where all this started from is now lost on me, --------don't eat old freezer burned cabbage rolls......or something like that?
Much love, and I am so glad that things are going so well.
