AM Nurse: Karen
PM Nurse: Doug (that "H.G. Doug" to Kit)
Mike had a stable day. No extubation but I think we can see that on the horizon. He is responding well to the antibiotics for the pneumonia. Dr. Baxter came by this evening to check in and made Mike laugh so hard that he set his vent alarms off and we had to all calm down.

becca mentioned that mike had a stroke. so i wanted to send support and hope. thankfully there is much plasticity and redundancy in brain. this, i know you have heard, but wanted to echo. hang tight.
So glad to hear Mike can keep his wonderful sense of humour (humor) in the midst of everything. Reminds me of when grandma's glass eye fell in the mashed potatoes.

Such good news to receive today. Thank you so much for your updates, Caitlin; they give all of us who are so far away peace of mind and encouragement. You ALL are in our thoughts and prayers at all times; wish we could be there to give hugs but know we are sending love your way and are with you every step of the way.
